Fight/Magic tournaments

Should we hold some fighting/Magic tournaments? Where the winner would get like a prize. IC-gold and OOC- a special badge?

Maybe we could have a magic battle, so those that have magic could duel and those that are more into fighting could have a sparing match?

We could have just one tournament a year . What do you guys think? We could even have a room so they could train throughout the year.

I think that sounds like a good idea but there would have to be a away to do this without someone who doesn't write as well as another or in-depth to have a chance. Maybe we could make a rule system for the battles so that would make it more fair. Like... so many actions per turn or so many mana points per spell?

I've played table top RPGs for 13 years so if you'd like assistance I can help hash it out.
