Magic lessons for Emily

Emily was dressed in her usual blue dress that fell to the floor hiding her old black boots. She has a padded shirt under it just in case. She stepped into the University with Dawn at her side. She smiled as she rubbed up against her. She smiled happily as she looked around. "Zyar?" She called as it echoed making Dawn growl and Emily laughed, "Dawn it's just an Echo relax." She said as Dawn huffed a little. She giggled and walked on. "Zyar?"

Zyar was playing with Ava when he heard his name the first time. Looking up and stood. Ava attaching to his leg. Wrapping her arms and legs around it. He began walking though it was a little ackward. He seemed to limp but Ava held on giggling and laughing. He heard his name again and called out. "I'm coming. Hold on just a moment." He met Emily halfway through the hallway. His eyes lit up as he saw them. Walking ackwardly over to Dawn and kissed her on the head. "Noble wolf Dawn." he said. Standing up and hugged Emily. "My good friend. It is so good to see you again." He let her go. Looking down at Ava who was pawing at Dawn. "Dawn. Emily. This is Jewel's and mine daughter Ava. Ava say hello to some of daddies old friends." Ava waved her hand. "Hi." She said with a giggle. He looked at Emily. "To what do I owe this great pleasure?"

Emily pet Dawn's head as she waited to be seen and smiled looking toward the noise and saw Zyar and a little girl who he guessed was is daughter and waved. It was hard to imagine that soon she would have a little child of her on, oh it made her think. Dawn wagged her tail looking at Ava and would play with her if she wanted to play while Emily and Zyar talked. "Hello Ava." She said and looked back up at Zyar, "I'm expecting my first baby with Ark." She said, all the signs pointed to it so she knew she was pregnant, a girl just knew. "I am here because rumor has it your the magic teacher and I'd like to learn magic. I tried to lean magic back in our old town but I could never find anyone willing to teach me. I also wanted to learn healing but I can into the sanctuary to the women chewing out a pregnant women we knew which made Dawn growl...and she got a warning. I mean really?" She said shaking her head, "But first I'd like to learn magic because I think it will be useful in my line of work." She said with a smile.

Ava let go of her daddies leg after studying Dawn a bit. Giggling and let go her father's leg. Allowing him to stand up easier and ran over to Dawn. Holding out her hands and sat by Dawn's side. Draping herself over the wolfess's form. "Hi hi wolfie." She says as she ran her fingers through Dawns side. Giggling and just staying like that for the moment.

Zyar looked at her. Nodding his head. "I sensed the new life forming within you. I am born of the dragon of life and a phoenix." He said with a smile. He was happy for Emily. "On that note congratulations and I am happy for you." He listened to her as she continued talking. Chuckling a bit. "That rumor is quite true. I am indeed the Master Of Magic here. The teacher if you will." He smiled at her warmly and listened as she continued. Shaking his head as he prefered not to think of that place. After awhile it became quite the awful location. He continued listening though.

He smiled a bit. "Well Emily Jewel is the healing instructor. She is the master healer. She is much different from how Mariah was." He said. "I did not quite like the young woman." He added. "However, you are here to learn magic and so you shall." He said with a smile. "First thing to teach you though is how to channel mana. Energy let out by every aspect of life. Even to an extent people send out mana waves. Once you learn to channel mana and focus your thoughts not only on what is going on but on the channeling than can we begin to teach you how to use the channeled mana." He looked at Dawn. "I even know some wolf magic. Spells that Dawn would be able to use. If she would like to learn them." He said as he looked back at Emily.

"When can you start? It will be quite useful once you learn mastery over magic."

Dawn nuzzled Ava while keeping one eye on Emily, she was still alert. She laid down on her side her head on Ava's lap but where she could still see Emily and easily get up of needed. Emily smiled and nodded to Zyar, "I should have know." She laughed and nodded listening to his talk agreeing with everything and was excited to start learning. Dawn looked at Zyar when he said her name and looked at Emily talking to her. "She want to do whatever it takes to help protect the baby." She said, he know her and Dawn's history together so he would understand. "I'd like to start now but, will any of this hurt the baby?" She asked looking down at her still flat stomach.

Zyar laughed a bit. "Perhaps but we're not made to be mind readers." he said with a smile. He looked to Dawn when he felt her gaze on him. Smiling at her warmly. Looking to Emily when she spoke. Nodding his head. "Alright then. I will teach Dawn some wolf magic as well." He said. Looking at Emily. Walking closer and put his hand on her belly. Closing his eyes and "felt out" the babies whereabouts. Locating the growing fetus he examined it. Pulling his hand away and opened his eyes. "Not this early on. However, to take precautions we will stay away from high level magic and spells until after the baby is born. Stick to minor and medium level spells. However, we will hold off on some of the more risky medium spells." He said.

"Alright Dawn. Lets start with a simplier technique." Kneeling down in front of Dawn. Hold out his hand with his palm facing her. "This technique is called Echoed Howl." He said simply. He formed wooden dummies and place them in a triangle on the ground. The dummies, when the techique was done right, would get multiple nicks varying in deepness. Which to a person would be cuts. Weaker foes would have deep injuries possibly lose a limb. Ava too busy playing with Dawn's tail to pay them any attention. He looked at Dawn. "I want you to focus every fiber on your being into coming out of your mouth when you howl. Focus your thoughts on only protecting. You need to imagine these dummies are living people. I am going to make them grow and move around with magic. When you have every ounce of you will, energy, mental state focused on that howl. I want you to push it all out. If you do it successfully at least one of these wooden dummies will lose a limb or have deeper nicks then the rest."

He moved his hands and the dummies grew and became armed with wooden weapons. They swung them and walked around. Heading towards her and Ava. "Pretend Ava is the baby Dawn. Pretend Ava is Emily's baby and you want to protect her like she was your own." The dummies swung a sword. Contacting with open air as they moved around like they were attacking but didn't move out of the big circle they were in.

She stayed quiet and still as Zyar placed a hand on her belly and nodded to his words. "Okay." She said. Emily moved out of the way next to Zyar as he talked to Dawn who was watching him even though her tail was being pulled and played with not that she minded. She let out a faint breath as she watched the dummies move. She watched Dawn who stood up and growled a little lowering her head, obviously not liking what was going on. She herd Zyar talk about Ava and Em's future baby. She growled again before a short period of silence as she jumped forward and roared at the dummies doing exactly what Zyar said and was looking at a few dummies she knocked over.

Zyar smiled at Emily and Dawn. He enjoyed seeing his friends but this was a teacher's lessons. He looked at Emily. "Begin focusing the fibers of your being into a ball of energy in the palm of one hand. Absorb energy from around you Emily. It will help you learn to channel mana. This channeling of mana will enable the use of spells. Practice that. That will be todays lesson." He said with a smile. Looking back at Dawn. He could tell she wasn't liking this but knew she would do it. He knew she loved Emily and the unborn baby. Which is why he told her to pretend Ava was the baby he knew she was gonna protect like her own. As the few dummies were knocked over, a couple had deep nicks in various places. The lead dummy was missing the entire arm from the shoulder down.

He patted Dawns head and scratched her behind the ears. "Again. You did splendidly. Lets do it again. Pretend now that somehow the dummies kidnapped Ava, who in this instance is Emily's baby, and use every ounce of your force in knocked over all the dummies." He said. Standing up the dummies. The injured ones moving slower than the rest. "The magic spells I am teaching you are ancient wolf magic Dawn. It is magic developed by the wolven race many, many, many eons ago."

He smiled at Dawn. Taking Ava and putting her behind the dummy in back. "Okay Ava you cry like you are held hostage." He looked at Dawn. "You focus on not hurting anyone but the dummies. You can do this. Don't worry about Ava. She is safe behind an orb of protection. You did well the first time. Now focus like the dummies are threatening to kill Emily's baby. The level of threat will need an increase in the powerful blast of your howl. Once you master this technique Dawn you will have a powerful skill that the enemy will not be expecting." He looked at Emily. Studying her. "Block out the things around you Emily and focus on what you need to do...channel mana."
