Boring.
That was the first word that came to mind as Marius's eyes wandered over the slowly milling occupants of Storybrooke. The following words after that were, "dull", "predictable", and "listless". If it weren't for his predisposition, he'd have left this place in the dust, leaving behind him a trail of blood, the mangled corpses adding an ironic life to an otherwise bromidic town.
But, that was the kicker, wasn't it? He was going through all this trouble for a nephilim and a human, his property, his blood-bag.
His.
So, he waited, eyes moving over each person that came into view as he created a list. Each person was quickly moved into one category or another, "Interesting" or "Not," an old habit of his when determining if there was someone worth his time to meet. Worth his time to take. Worth his time to maim. Marius wasn't a helter-skelter killer; Far from it, in fact. He had a system, a method. Should you fall under his definition of interesting...
...May God have mercy on your soul.
During his lazy perusal, something bright caught his eye, the sun's light hitting it in such a way that it was nearly blinding for a moment as it bobbed in and out of view. Uninteresting at first, Marius's eyes remained flat while taking in her appearance. It wasn't as if she wasn't pretty enough, her blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes appealing and attractive for some...But not him. He had his type, or rather, had his type. Samyaza currently had his type on lock down, which was the entire reason he was out strolling in such a free manner, no hurry, no motivation.
Just as he had fairly dismissed Rose completely, her meandering less-than-appealing to his current state, he stopped, red eyes flashing a moment as he saw a change in her, felt the tension surrounding her from his place.
Potential.
Her body becoming rigid as some sort of knowledge reached her, causing her entire demeanor to change. Not needing to rush after her, he deviated from her exact path, choosing to take a different route in the same direction. Whatever it was, she'd known about it before he had, which added to the potential he saw in her. The smell of blood reached him long before his eyes fell on the daycare, a small smile pulling at his lips as he inhaled the fresh, young scent. Potent fear gripped him, along with the screams of the tormented, the pain wrapping around the daycare almost tangible to the touch.
From his perch upon a boulder, lurking in the shadow of a grouping of trees, he caught bits and pieces of what was happening inside the daycare. Though the shrieks drowned out the majority of it, he painted a picture for himself, seeing what Rose was able to accomplish, the glimpses of her through the windows of the small building enough to complete the picture. A lycan was something he'd never actually gone after, merely because he'd always seen them as far below his station, the lot of them. Yet the way she handled the other vampires, however they'd managed to bungle a simple job, it reaffirmed his earlier conclusion: Potential.
My dear...I can't wait...to make your acquaintance...Breaking you will definitely be the highlight of my week.
Moving further into the woods, he watched, patiently waiting for her slowly relaxing form to leave the daycare. Silently, he hoped she'd not take too long, as his patience only stretched so far.
